About The Author

Clay Damewood (Pentassuglia) has lived in Northern and Southern Italy for over 6 years. His roots go back to Cisternino in the southern region of Apulia (Puglia). Clay attended Wake Forest University graduating in 1979 with a BA in romance languages. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the US Army where he served in California, Georgia, Germany, Italy and Turkey. His military service culminated in the Bronze star during the first Gulf conflict. He subsequently entered civilian life where he has served as a telecommunications engineer for various fortune 500 companies. 

During the past 25 years he traveled all over Italy gathering the secrets of simple yet genuine Italian pasta preparation. He has made frequent trips to his grandparents birthplace of Cisternino in Puglia where his cousins reside today. 

Clay currently works for the sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate as a Telecommunications Engineer.
